Adric was a young boy, born and raised on the E-Space planet Alzarius, who became a companion of the Fourth and Fifth incarnations of the Doctor from the long-running British sci-fi television show Doctor Who. Adric was introduced in the serial "Full Circle." He helped the Doctor and Romana defeat the dangerous Marshmen after Mistfall befell his planet. The events killed his only living relation, an older brother named Varsh, so Adric took the matters into his own hands and stowed away on board the TARDIS. He accompanied them through Romana's departure in "Warriors' Gate" and was by the Doctor's side when he regenerated into the Fifth Doctor. Adric met an untimely demise in the Fifth Doctot serial "Earthshock" where he was killed in action trying to stop a futuristic freighter from crashing into a prehistoric Earth.
Adric was curious, intelligent and sometimes abrasive. He grew up something of an outsider and thought he had found a niche with the Doctor--and perhaps he had, but only with the first Doctor he met. His new Doctor seemed at times more immature than himself, and he often butted heads with the other companions on board. In the end, he wished to return home to E-Space, and sort of got his wish when he was killed in the surprise ending of his last serial. Adric made cameo apperances in several serials after, most notably in "Caves of Androzani" when he appeared, along with all the other companions of the Fifth Doctor, to help the Doctor's regeneration. In fact, the Fifth Doctor's last word was, "Adric?"
